RIGHT TRACKS

A long-term life mentoring and cultural development program.

Right Tracks is a culturally grounded mentoring initiative that walks with Aboriginal young people aged 12–25, especially those disengaged from school or in contact with the justice system. This stream offers structured mentoring, behavioural change support, and cultural guidance over extended periods.

What We Do

1

Deliver relationship-based mentoring in schools, homes, youth detention, and communities.

2

Facilitate over 100 life skills workshops per year in topics like anger regulation, decision-making, communication, identity, cultural pride, substance use awareness, and life goals.

3

Provide intensive post-release support and re-engagement plans for young people returning from detention.

4

Coordinate with school wellbeing teams, police diversion units, NT Corrections, Congress, and youth organisations to form wraparound care.

5

Collect data and track participant progress to ensure accountability and impact.

Why It Matters

Right Tracks is about walking alongside young people who’ve fallen through the cracks. It prioritises healing, consistency, and trust, delivered by culturally connected mentors who understand local challenges. The program reduces reoffending, increases engagement in school and work, and reconnects young people to culture and community.
