MILSTONES

The journey so far.

From humble beginnings on the red dirt of Central Australia, the Redtails Pinktails Right Tracks story has grown into a movement built on purpose, pride and connection. What started as a simple idea using football to bring people together, has evolved into a decade of community impact.

Over the years, we’ve marked key milestones: the first Redtails and Pinktails teams taking the field, our young leaders stepping into mentoring roles, partnerships expanding across schools and communities, and the creation of the Right Tracks program to guide youth toward education, employment and strong futures.

Each step has been a moment of growth, resilience and celebration a reminder that when community leads the way, lasting change follows.

A moment of loss becomes a call to action

After the tragic death of a young man from Amoonguna whom Rob Clarke had mentored, Rob is devastated by the community’s silence. The lack of public acknowledgment fuels his determination to create a program that offers hope, purpose, and visibility to young people through football and community connection.

Redtails concept takes flight

Rob begins shaping the Redtails concept, a representative football team that would reward young men committed to positive behaviour, attendance, and community contribution. The model is simple but powerful: “no school, no work, no footy.”

First Redtails game

The Redtails play their inaugural game, bringing together young men from across Central Australia. The match is more than a sporting event. It marks a shift in community pride, self-belief, and regional unity.

Pinktails are born

Recognising the need for equal opportunity, the Pinktails women’s team is established. With the same values-based framework, young women are now also offered a chance to travel, compete, and represent their region.
